Hi, my name is David White

And for more than 10 years, I’ve been helping schools and organisations with a variety of governance and management issues.

I call on over 30 years experience in a wide range of workplaces including policing, social work, mental health, youth development, health promotion and as a Human Resources manager. It is this experience, combined with my MBA, and outstanding communication skills, that has made me an effective consultant.

I actively listen to clients to understand what they are wanting to achieve, then devise a strategy to get there. Clients appreciate my approach, and the outcomes we have achieved.

I have vast experience as a trustee and providing training to boards. I wrote a dissertation on governance and I am a member of the Institute of Directors.

I have a wide range of work and life experience and skills that have led to me becoming a consultant. Policing, social work, youth development, health promotion, mental health work and human resources management are just some of the roles I held prior to consulting. These roles have provided me with a breadth of knowledge few can match. I have worked in a number of Maori organisations, and my children are of Cook Island descent. I have also worked on the factory floor and managed at the top levels as well as served on boards.

Completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2010 was the catalyst to my turning to consultancy. My work life has been spent in roles requiring high levels of interpersonal skills and sound judgement. I have learned the importance of listening and empathy.

Since commencing my business, I have conducted a wide range of services to schools and NGO’s. I have been appointed as a Limited Statutory Manager of a school and was interim CEO of a large early education provider. My life and work experience have been complemented by the MBA and other tertiary studies and membership of professional bodies to make me the consultant I am now: knowledgeable, curious, professional, and committed to making a positive difference for my clients.
